Despite experiencing homelessness, she has fought for custody of her brother and is currently working as a waitress while studying to become a registered nurse. After the tragic loss of her sister in a car accident last year, Cara dreams of starting a program in South Carolina to support foster youth. An artist and aspiring author, she is writing a book about her journey to achieve her goals and give back to others.

Cara has faced significant hardships, including periods of homelessness and unimaginable trauma, before entering foster care. Now that she is working to build a stable and peaceful life, she has finally found a place she can call home, and she is ready to make it feel like one.
