Yvette faced many challenges growing up in foster care, and it was far from a positive experience. Yvette's life began with abandonment as a newborn, only to be reunited with her mother at the age of two. Sadly, she suffered severe abuse from her mother, which left her feeling that life had little meaning. At thirteen, she was removed from her home and struggled within the foster care system and family issues. In search of belonging and basic needs like food, she made poor choices that led to time in juvenile hall. Over the years, she lived in twenty-four different homes, but her final group home experience was transformative, helping her heal and grow. Although her mother seemed to want her back at seventeen, she was ultimately kicked out on her eighteenth birthday. Homelessness exposed her to drugs, pain, and further abuse, experiences that deeply changed her. After a life-threatening overdose, she had a profound spiritual awakening, finding a connection with God, spirits, and saints. She now understands that obstacles are part of the path each person is meant to walk. She has developed strong leadership skills and is an effective mediator. Through improved communication, she has become less shy and more confident. She approaches challenges with determination, refusing to give up no matter what obstacles arise. A deeply spiritual person, she is focused on her education and finds peace in nature, especially by the beach. Today, she is proud of the strong, wonderful woman she has become. While she acknowledges making mistakes, she sees them as part of being human.

Yvette is asking for a PlayStation because of her deep love for gaming. This passion has not only provided her with joy but also inspired her to learn how to drive. Gaming has become a wonderful hobby for her, one that truly brings happiness and serves as a much-needed escape from her fears and worries. She feels immensely grateful for even being considered for this opportunity, and receiving a PlayStation would mean the world to her, especially after all she has been through in her life. Yvette knows that this gaming system will quickly become one of her prized possessions, adding even more value to her cherished hobby.
