Voices for Children - San DiegoKaitlin and her three younger siblings were removed from their home due to domestic violence and substance abuse between her parents. For nearly a year, Kaitlin struggled to stay focused in school and prioritize her goals. She has finally regained focus and is doing well. Kaitlin is an absolutely wonderful young lady and is well-liked by peers and adults in her life. She has a great sense of humor and enjoys playing the drums, listening to a wide variety of music, drawing and painting, reading, and watching anime.
Kaitlyn's sister accidentally threw her new iPad out of a moving car window before Kaitlyn had a chance to use it. This loss has significantly impacted Kaitlyn's quality of life and caused her considerable stress, especially as she planned to use the iPad for her school assignments. With the fall semester approaching, Kaitlyn has been anxious about starting school, and receiving a new iPad would greatly assist her in completing her assignments as she finishes her senior year and works toward applying for jobs and higher education. Kaitlyn enjoys emotional outlets and hobbies such as drawing and painting in an app where she often begins sketches and develops them further. Additionally, she frequently has virtual visits with friends and family whom she cannot see in person, and having an iPad would help her maintain contact with her support system.
