Julie is a bright and courageous young lady. As a foster youth, she has faced many obstacles but continues to focus on her education and her passions. She loves reading about mysteries and adventures, making friends, and pushing herself academically.

As the new school year approaches in a couple of weeks, Julie feels a mix of excitement and anxiety. She’s starting at a new middle school and is looking forward to making friends and exploring the school library. However, she is also nervous about the three-mile walk to school, especially since there's no bus service available. Julie has been wishing for a bike and would love to have a bike lock to keep it safe. Having a bike would make her commute easier, but she knows it's a big responsibility. With a lock, she could protect her bike and enjoy riding it to school.
