Elijah is full of energy when he is with his closest friends and foster care workers. He is currently living in an extended foster care housing program, where he is learning to manage independent living. Elijah has faced trauma that has led to daily struggles with anxiety. By participating in therapy services, he has explored various coping skills to help him manage his anxiety. After a long journey of trying different techniques, he has found that playing musical instruments and using fidget tools are the most effective ways to cope.

Elijah has worked hard to overcome the challenges of growing up in foster care. Through the foster housing program, he received a thin mattress—something he is grateful for after spending months sleeping on the floor. However, while he appreciates having a bed, the mattress is so uncomfortable that it makes it difficult for him to get proper rest. Now entering his second year of community college, Elijah understands that quality sleep is not just about comfort; it directly impacts his ability to stay focused in class, manage his workload, and continue building a better future for himself. Without restful nights, his days become more challenging, and his goals feel distant. Soon, Elijah will age out of the foster system and move into his very first apartment. Having a comfortable mattress would not only help him sleep better now but also provide him with something lasting—a stable and reliable place to rest as he steps into independence.
