Brandon is the most beautiful, gentle little boy. He entered foster care due to devastating medical neglect and lives with a foster family. Brandon has Down Syndrome and lives with many medical complexities, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, liver dysfunction, and profound developmental delay. Prior to entering foster care, he never received medical care or interventions to help him overcome his obstacles. Despite his challenges, Brandon is curious, affectionate, and bonds well with others. He loves cooing and touching faces, cuddling in his caregivers’ arms, and watching his foster siblings play. He has an incredibly bright future ahead of him!

Brandon loves watching others play, dance, and interact with him, and he makes his feelings known when he feels left out. However, because he is unable to sit up on his own or even hold his head up, it can be challenging for him to feel included. Since Brandon has never received medical care, he does not have any adaptive equipment, and it may take months for insurance to approve the essential items that would make his life easier and happier. A Special Tomato Chair is a soft, reclined seat with a headrest and straps that Brandon can use on the floor in his living room, at the dinner table, or even in his stroller wagon while on the go. This chair will provide the support he needs to explore the world safely while being comfortable, portable, and adjustable. Although the Special Tomato Chair is just one piece of equipment Brandon needs on his medical journey, it will make a significant difference in ensuring he has the accessibility he deserves.
