An iPad for Afrah who needs studying to become an Oncologist
Afrah, 23 years old, MA
Wish submitted by:
BreaktimeAfrah is originally from Ethiopia, where she was studying in college with the goal of becoming an Oncologist. Since arriving in the US, Afrah has faced many challenges. She is currently experiencing homelessness and living in a shelter. Even though she has faced these setbacks, Afrah remains determined and hopeful. She is participating in a job training program and completing a temporary placement to gain new skills. She has also enrolled in college and started taking classes to move toward her goal of becoming an Oncologist.
Afrah has demonstrated incredible strength and determination in pursuing her dreams, even in the face of numerous challenges. She is hoping for an iPad, which would really help her by giving her access to the online components of her classes, allowing her to create detailed diagrams, and enabling her to fully focus on her studies. This support would make it easier for her to balance school with her life in a shelter, her part-time job, and the need to restart her education after her credits from Ethiopia didn’t transfer. With this help, she can stay on track to become an Oncologist.
