Clothes shopping for Oscar who only owns two outfits

Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach CountyOscar entered foster care at the age of seventeen after losing his home. Throughout his childhood, he faced severe neglect and abuse. Despite not having a home or family to turn to, Oscar has continued attending high school and dreams of becoming an electrician. He is working hard to overcome his shyness and learn to trust others.
Oscar has only two outfits to wear and limited access to a coin-operated laundry machine. At times, he feels embarrassed to go to school because his clothes are becoming worn, and he can’t always wash the few items he has. Despite this, he is determined to finish high school and continues to attend classes. His only wish right now is for an Amazon gift card, as he has no transportation and can only shop online. With it, he hopes to buy pants, shirts, underwear, and socks. This request is split into two wishes. This is wish 2 of 2.

He was able to purchase essential clothing for school and everyday activities, giving him a sense of comfort and confidence. Oscar expressed how relieved he feels now that he doesn’t have to keep washing the same two outfits.
