Melissa spent several months in the foster care system before being adopted. Although she was grateful for her new family, she faced many challenges with her adoptive parents. After overcoming numerous hardships, Melissa is now studying art therapy at Arcadia and is embracing her newfound freedom. She is a talented young woman who enjoys drawing, painting, and photography. Melissa also finds comfort in her collection of plushies, which play an important role in her life.

Melissa loves to express herself through art and photography, but does not have the means to purchase her own camera. She loves to take pictures of nature and document her memories through photographs. Creating art is very therapeutic for Melissa, who has been through many struggles before, during, and after foster care.
