Although she was grateful for her new family, she faced many challenges with her adoptive parents. After overcoming numerous hardships, Melissa is now studying art therapy at Arcadia and is embracing her newfound freedom. She is a talented young woman who enjoys drawing, painting, and photography. Melissa also finds comfort in her collection of plushies, which play an important role in her life.
Melissa finds joy and healing by expressing herself through art and photography. Despite not having the resources to own her own camera, her passion for capturing nature and documenting memories remains strong. For Melissa, creating art serves as a therapeutic outlet, helping her navigate the challenges she faced before, during, and after her time in foster care.
