Aaliyah has moved frequently due to domestic violence, but she finds joy in reading about courageous young girls. This year, she joined the Hope Initiative program and has made new friends. She feels safe in her Hope Circle, where she can share her experiences and connect with others. This support has been helpful as she adjusts to a new school.

Aaliyah will benefit greatly from having an iPad, as it will enable her to participate in weekly book club sessions with her mentor and friends in the small group known as Hope Circle. This supportive environment offers her the encouragement she needs, even with the challenges of scheduling and transportation. Plus, the tablet will provide her access to tutoring, which will help build her confidence, enhance her engagement in school, and nurture her passion for reading.
