Jaslene has faced a tough journey in her young life. She and her siblings were once left alone for days without food or their necessary medications. They had to go door to door asking neighbors for help until someone finally called the authorities. The children were taken away for their safety and initially placed together, but when their mother began threatening their foster parent, they had to leave that home and were separated. In the past two years, Jaslene has moved between six different homes. Now, she has finally found a place where she feels safe and is excited to start fresh in a new school district. She's beginning to come out of her shell and is making new friends, which is a big step for her.

Jaslene has just started at a new high school, and without a phone, she feels a growing sense of isolation. She finds herself longing for a way to stay connected to her siblings, with whom she is separated and misses deeply. An iPad would bridge that gap, allowing her to engage in FaceTime calls and share moments with the people who matter most to her. With an iPad, Jaslene could truly feel like she is not losing her close connection to her siblings.
