Darryl is a pleasant, intelligent, sensitive, and respectful young man. He is athletic and creative, enjoying sports, playing the guitar, and biking. As an active student, he earns good grades and aspires to become a mechanical engineer after graduating from high school. Darryl is in foster care with his five siblings, three of whom live in separate homes. Unfortunately, he has faced challenges such as parental substance abuse, sibling abuse, and the loss of a parent due to self-harm. Despite these hardships, Darryl finds reasons to smile. He often holds back his emotions to avoid causing conflict with others. After graduating from wraparound services, he has become more confident in expressing his needs, although he still tends to be quite bashful.

Darryl is an incredible child with a bright smile and a friendly greeting for everyone he meets. He dreams of owning a bicycle so he can ride to the beach. For Darryl, biking represents more than just fun; it’s a way to clear his mind and escape life's stresses. After facing significant childhood trauma, he just wants a break from his worries. Darryl believes that having a new bike would not only boost his emotional well-being but also improve his overall quality of life. Riding would give him the joy, peace, and freedom he is looking for.
