Jacob is a ten-year-old boy who lives with his single mother. He is very active and enjoys playing sports. Jacob is a caring young boy who has a special bond with his family. He is also a member of his town's Rec traveling soccer league.

Jacob dreams of having a BMX bike so he can ride around his apartment complex with his friends. It’s been years since he last had a bike, and he hasn't asked for one because he knows his mother struggles to afford it. Jacob believes a bike would help him get to local stores and visit friends more easily. He’s a responsible boy with good grades and is well-liked. Most of his friends ride BMX bikes, and he wishes he could join them with one of his own.
