Shannon is a young woman living in residential care as she prepares to leave the foster care system. She feels both excited and stressed about being on her own for the first time. Although she is naturally introverted, she has started to push herself to make friends and get involved in her community. Independence is very important to her; she wants to be self-sufficient and not rely on others. Despite her nerves, Shannon remains motivated to build a stable future.

An electric bike would be a tremendous help for Shannon as she transitions into adulthood and begins living independently. As she prepares to age out of the foster care system, she is taking on the full responsibility of managing her own transportation to work, appointments, and daily activities. Shannon is a person who thrives on structure—she is committed to maintaining her routines and keeping up with her counseling sessions, therapies, and job. She wishes for reliable transportation to help her stay consistent and successful in these efforts. Unfortunately, public transportation in her area is limited and located quite a distance from her new housing, making it an unreliable option. In addition, Shannon faces some physical challenges that make using a standard pedal bike difficult. An electric bike would give her the independence and freedom she values so deeply, allowing her to get where she needs to go safely and efficiently.
