Edward entered foster care after both his parents were incarcerated due to drug trafficking convictions. As he navigates this significant change in his life, he faces the challenges of being separated from two of his sisters, starting at a new school, and adapting to a different set of rules in his uncle’s home. Soon, he will transition to a foster home, making this adjustment even more complex. Despite these difficulties, Edward remains open-minded and chatty, quickly making friends at his new school. However, the trauma and upheaval he's experienced have taken a toll on his academic performance, particularly with completing homework assignments. Once an A-student, he now struggles to keep up, but his enthusiasm for learning remains intact. Edward has a passion for music, enjoys studying science, and actively participates in sports, which provide him with a sense of joy amidst the challenges he faces.

Edward wants to be a barber and has already cut hair for many of his male family members. He dreams of opening his own barbershop and hopes to hire his father when he gets out of prison. Edward pays attention to his appearance, always dressing stylishly and keeping himself well-groomed. He wishes for a black backpack that would go well with his look and represent his ambition and self-respect. The backpack would also help him keep his school books organized and restore his pride and sense of order, especially after all the changes he’s faced in his life and family.
