Janelle has experienced abuse and neglect, which led to her initial removal from her home. She was placed with her four siblings, whom she deeply loves and is closely bonded with. However, due to her higher level of emotional and behavioral needs stemming from her trauma, she was later moved to a placement that could provide more intensive care and support. With everything she has endured, Janelle remains a smart and active young lady. She loves to read, has taken on leadership roles at school, and enjoys participating in swim lessons this summer. Physical activity has become one of her most meaningful outlets, helping her process and release the stress from her past experiences.

Janelle wants a colorful bike helmet to keep her safe while riding. She pictures a bright helmet with fun patterns that show off her personality. Janelle knows wearing a helmet is important, and she hopes it will encourage her friends to wear theirs too. A cool helmet would make her bike rides even more fun.
