Riley came into the foster care system after his father admitted to sexually abusing Riley's older brother. His father has severe mental health struggles, and his mom has had a difficult time accepting the allegations. The court found that because the father is now in prison, Riley and his brother can remain in the home with their mother to prevent further trauma. However, concerns about their mothers' protectiveness and ability to engage with Riley and his brother remain. Riley is very curious and energetic, and although his teachers express that he is doing extremely well academically, he frequently appears withdrawn and anxious. Riley loves going to the beach, playing with dogs, and most of all, going on roller coasters with his brother.

Riley's only wish is to go to Disneyland. Riley is very bright and kind, and despite the trauma he has endured over recent years, continues to believe in a magical world. While sitting outside the court recently, Riley shared that his grandfather, who recently passed away, always told him stories of Disneyland and was sad he never got to go with him. Riley said if he could go to Disneyland with his brother, it would be the best day ever and would be the perfect birthday present.
