City Living NYOphelia is a passionate young woman who wants to make a difference in her community as a public defender. After a tumultuous time in care, she is making great strides towards realizing her dream. Though Ophelia is currently homeless and living in a shelter, she is working hard to apply for housing opportunities. Once housed Ophelia intends on returning to school and finding steady employment. In her free time Ophelia enjoys relaxing and watching movies.
Ophelia relies on food stamps to put food on the table. She is currently completing a job training program but only getting a small stipend for his time. Food stamps and cash assistance are critical to her ability to feed herself and pay her bills. Due to the ongoing government shutdown, Ophelia is very concerned about how she will be able to purchase food without food stamps being distributed in November.
