After experiencing frightening situations during her early years, she easily becomes triggered by people, certain sounds, or even the thought of leaving her home to go to the store, leading to intense anxiety. To help calm herself and distract from her worries, she finds comfort in watching simple television shows that feature soothing songs and stories. Melanie also has a special affection for animals, particularly dogs, as they bring her warmth and a sense of security.

Melanie recently entered foster care after enduring significant trauma in her early life, including severe physical abuse. She is particularly sensitive to textures and materials, which makes finding clothes that fit her well quite challenging. Going shopping together would be a great bonding opportunity for Melanie and her foster mom, allowing Melanie to choose clothes for herself—something she has never had the chance to do before.
