Melanie, who is in care, has faced a significant amount of trauma in her young life, which has made it difficult for her to trust those around her. After experiencing frightening situations during her early years, she easily becomes triggered by people, certain sounds, or even the thought of leaving her home to go to the store, leading to intense anxiety. To help calm herself and distract from her worries, she finds comfort in watching simple television shows that feature soothing songs and stories. Melanie also has a special affection for animals, particularly dogs, as they bring her warmth and a sense of security.

Melanie is trying many new things now that she was not allowed to leave her house much during her first five years. She is very hesitant to do anything and prefers to stay at home doing quiet activities. She will enjoy this journal set so she can create nice pictures, make it her own, and maybe eventually start processing some of the things she has experienced.
