New Narrative - Compass Rose ProgramSaline is a deeply family-oriented, quick-witted young adult whose humor and resilience shine through every day! Since entering the foster care and behavioral health systems, Saline has worked hard to grow and thrive with the support of a caring non-relative resource family and empowering community programs. Today, Saline is confidently navigating semi-independent living alongside their adorable tabby cat!
Saline recently started a new job as a youth mentor, but getting to work each day has been a significant challenge due to chronic pain and illness, which already make daily travel physically demanding. Riding the bus can be overwhelming, often leading to overstimulation from the noise, chatter, and unpredictability, which can hinder attendance. While their old headphones used to help manage this sensory overload, they no longer hold a charge, leaving Saline without a reliable way to protect their focus and well-being during the commute. A new pair of headphones would provide a consistent, accessible way to reduce sensory overload, making the bus ride safer, calmer, and more manageable, allowing Saline to concentrate on their job rather than worry about the noise.
