Larissa has had a horrific upbringing. She was recently placed at a group home for expectant mothers due to years of excessive sexual abuse and trafficking. Larissa wants to start fresh in her new home, and she knows she can be a great mom to her little boy!

Larissa has always struggled to fit in, a challenge that stems from her childhood trauma. Now, as a freshman in high school, she yearns more than anything to find her place among her peers. She notices that all the girls at school are wearing comfortable Birkenstocks, and she would love to have her own pair, hoping it might help her connect with others and feel more like she belongs.
