Latreese is a special girl with a big heart. She has worked hard to take care of her younger sister despite the chaos they experienced in their biological home. They were removed from their parents due to abuse, neglect, and domestic violence and were initially placed with their grandmother. However, after a few months, they had to leave that home as well because they were being exposed to unsafe individuals. Latreese is currently adjusting to her foster home but has become quiet and withdrawn. She is worried about her sister and concerned for her parents since she cannot see them at this time. Latreese loves to draw and is fond of animals. She is tentatively excited to try some new activities.

Latreese and her foster mom have been bonding over board games and other activities, and for Christmas, she is asking for more activities that they can do together. Latreese will be so excited to have this book, which has a series of mysteries that they can solve together. She has really been getting a lot of her special play time!
