Despite the challenges she faced in foster care, Kara's heart has remained unchanged. After aging out, she moved overseas in search of new ways to support and empower young people like herself. It was both the scariest and bravest decision she ever made. A few years later, she returned to Georgia to assist youth aged 14 to 21 in foster care, where she utilizes her lived experience to teach life skills and help them prepare for adulthood. Kara understands that her biological parents loved her but were not equipped to care for her. Nevertheless, she leads with grace and empathy. She is grateful every day for her life and independence.

Kara is a brave, kind, and loving young woman. She aspires to support youth who have faced similar hardships to those she experienced in her own childhood. Whether she is teaching young foster youth important life skills to help them transition into adulthood or traveling abroad to empower young people, she consistently goes above and beyond to make a difference. As winter approaches, Kara is in need of boots to keep her feet warm and take care of herself. She has found a beautiful pair of boots that she would love to receive for Christmas this year.
