Despite the challenges she faced in foster care, Kara's heart has remained unchanged. After aging out, she moved overseas in search of new ways to support and empower young people like herself. It was both the scariest and bravest decision she ever made. A few years later, she returned to Georgia to assist youth aged 14 to 21 in foster care, where she utilizes her lived experience to teach life skills and help them prepare for adulthood. Kara understands that her biological parents loved her but were not equipped to care for her. Nevertheless, she leads with grace and empathy. She is grateful every day for her life and independence.

Kara recently moved back to her home state to help young foster youth develop the life skills they need to transition into adulthood. She remembers how challenging that transition was for her. As she works to serve others, she understands that taking care of herself is essential for her to continue showing up every day. To assist with this, she would like a fitness watch to help track her sleep and fitness goals.
