Amber grew up in foster care and often felt surrounded by people who didn’t believe in her potential. From caseworkers to foster parents, it seemed everyone thought she wouldn’t amount to much. She longed for others to see her for who she truly was. Today, Amber works to uplift others in foster care or those facing difficult times. After being rejected from nursing school years ago and feeling disheartened, she recently earned her acceptance into the program. Amber is proud of her determination to return to her passion and make it this far.

When people think of someone who is resilient, Amber immediately comes to mind. She has allowed her experiences in foster care to shape her into a compassionate and kind person. Today, her greatest joy comes from her children, her decision to return to nursing school after previously facing rejection, and her efforts to create her own family. One of her favorite activities with her kids is making cold smoothies before school. She would love to have an ice maker on her counter to help them prepare delicious smoothies for their daily adventures.
