With his father absent and his mother incarcerated for several years to come, he entered foster care, unsure of what the future would hold. Since then, he has embraced independent living, worked hard in school, and taken full advantage of the services available to him. He is making friends, building new skills, and truly coming out of his shell. His maturity, resilience, and positive attitude have helped him thrive, and he continues to set his sights on a brighter future.

Mike is fascinated by the stars and dreams of studying astronomy in college. A telescope would allow him to explore the night sky, helping him learn to identify planets, constellations, and galaxies.
