Chidery is an inspiring young leader whose resilience shines through his journey. After aging out of foster care this year, he quickly became independent by securing his own apartment and pursuing his education. A proud member of the GPAC youth leadership board, he advocates for teens and young adults still in care. His acceptance into GSU, despite academic challenges, reflects his determination. Family motivates him; he takes pride in his younger siblings attending college and knows his mother in Nigeria is proud of their success. Chidery is a source of advice and support for those around him, leading with empathy. Having survived a life-threatening electrocution at 16, he believes he is here for a greater purpose, guiding his passion for service and change.

Chidery is seeking a new set of professional hair trimmers to enhance his skills and passion as a barber. After aging out of foster care, he has worked hard to build stability in his life, and barbering has become a meaningful outlet for his creativity, connection with others, and income while in school. He specifically wants to upgrade to a Babyliss set, known for its precision and quality, which would allow him to deliver cleaner fades and sharper lineups. This gift would not only help him improve his craft but also support his continued growth, confidence, and independence as he pursues a brighter future.
