The Buckeye RanchKyra came into foster care after experiencing severe abuse that led her to be hospitalized for several months. Despite the hardships of her life, Kyra is a bubbly, bright, and outgoing girl with the biggest smile. Kyra still faces many physical challenges stemming from her abuse, but she is adjusting well to the new home and school she has been placed in. Kyra enjoys all things girly - nails, dresses, makeup, and more. She loves to play pretend, watch cartoons, and read books.
Kyra has been facing challenges in transitioning through her daily routines and activities, often leading her to shut down or become dysregulated. She thrives on immediate gratification when she completes tasks, which is key to her motivation. Her service team and foster parents are optimistic that introducing these light buttons will provide her with the incentive she needs to engage with her tasks. By allowing Kyra to see the immediate results of her efforts, these lights will not only help reduce her emotional shutdowns but also foster a sense of pride in her accomplishments as she learns to push her button and celebrate her successes.
