Joey is a motivated and optimistic young man who has been through many hardships in his life. Joey has made great progress in every area of his life and is now on a path to success. Joey enjoys school and does very well. He enjoys getting to spend time outside and loves to play all different kinds of sports. Joey has spent much of his life in foster care and has spent most of those years separated from either all or most of his siblings. Joey loves that he is able to connect with his siblings through video games and his cell phone because he cares very much about their well-being, because he is the oldest of all of them and is a very responsible older brother. Joey has been working hard towards learning all of the skills that he'll need when he emancipates, and loves having foster parents who are teaching him how to drive and have helped him get his very first job.

Joey got his first job a few months ago, and he has loved gaining the experience and life skills that will help him when he emancipates from foster care. Last Christmas was tough for him after being disrupted from a foster home where he had lived for several years. Fortunately, this situation led him to a new family committed to helping him build his independence and explore the activities he enjoys. To take the next step in his journey toward independence, Joey wants to get himself to and from work and school instead of relying on his foster parents for rides. Since he doesn’t have a driver’s license or a car yet, his best option for traveling longer distances is an electric scooter. Joey would be so excited to receive this scooter for Christmas, as it will allow him to start independently commuting to school after the break and to and from his job!
