After aging out of the foster care system, Akella has found ways to enjoy her free time. She loves listening to gospel, R&B, and hip-hop music, as well as watching reality shows, comedies, and dramas on TV. Akella also enjoys shopping for various items and finds pleasure in couponing. She remains actively involved with Silver Lining Mentoring as an alumni mentee, aiming to give back to younger mentees and inspire positive change through her experiences.

Akella is preparing for the Massachusetts winter and is in need of a new pair of snow boots. Where she resides, the sidewalks often don't get cleaned quickly, so she's looking to purchase a pair of boots that will keep her warm and dry, and she's commuting.
