Monie is a smart and talented young lady. She enjoys skateboarding, painting, and playing her guitar. Monie often hopes her parents would be in a position to be able to be there for her, but is thankful for her aunts, great aunts, and great-grandmother's constant love and support. Monie's love for art is apparent in her colorful hair and makeup. Monie's dream is to go to art school in New York City, and she has her family and friends rooting for her!

Monie says that music is art, and it has been a powerful way for her to cope with her parents’ absence in her life. She is often on the move and loves skateboarding to and from school, as well as around her city. Monie says that having a portable speaker would provide the perfect background music for her skateboarding adventures. This gift would combine two things she loves, music and being active, while supporting her creativity and independence.
