Damarys is a resilient and compassionate young lady who was placed in foster care. As the oldest of five siblings, she has always carried a tremendous amount of responsibility on her shoulders. Even after experiencing severe hardships and feeling guilty for situations far beyond her control, Damarys remains deeply connected to her family. Although she and her siblings were unable to be placed together, Damarys’ love for them remains her guiding motivation. She worries about them, advocates for them, and dreams of the day they can all reunite. Her caregivers describe her as selfless, protective, and incredibly thoughtful.

Damarys and her four siblings will be returning to their mother’s care next week! She is incredibly excited to reunify with her mom and siblings. Their mother is currently facing financial challenges, but is doing everything she can to provide for her children. She is thankfully able to stay with a family member; however, she does not yet have beds for the children. An air mattress would be extremely helpful at this time and would ensure that Damarys and her siblings have a safe and comfortable place to sleep as they transition back home.
