Shavon, a former foster youth, embodies tenacity and determination. As a motivated young woman, she is diligently pursuing her college degree. Recently, she celebrated a personal milestone by moving into her own apartment, where she happily resides with her adorable puppy. In addition to her studies and new home, Shavon is also in the process of adopting one of her nephews, ensuring that he stays out of foster care. This is truly an exciting and transformative time in her life!

Shavon is a dedicated young lady who spent much of her childhood in foster care in New York. She currently finds herself struggling financially, living on a fixed income. Her old coat, worn and tattered with holes and tears, no longer provides the warmth she needs.
