With custody of his brother, Lorenzo was experiencing homelessness for approximately a year and a half before moving into transitional housing. Now that he is in a more stable housing situation, Lorenzo is working to secure an affordable apartment of his own, help his little brother graduate high school and get set up for success, go back to college and complete a degree in psychology or sociology, and is interested in becoming a guidance counselor and helping kids, like his guidance counselor helped him! Lorenzo also has plans to connect with a therapist and build up a savings account to help promote financial stability.

Lorenzo's car is currently in the shop for repairs, and he needs a reliable way to get to work as a school lunch aide. An Uber gift card would be a tremendous help during this time, allowing him to safely commute while he works toward his financial and vocational goals, especially as he navigates his time in transitional housing.
