Department of Health and Human Services- NebraskaJazelle is an intelligent and beautiful young lady. She is one of five siblings who spent time in foster care with their grandmother before returning to their mother. Throughout their lives, Jazelle and her siblings have experienced domestic violence and drug abuse. Her father is currently in prison. Jazelle is very sensitive to the people and environments around her; she feels deeply and yearns for one-on-one attention, which she rarely receives. She loves to write and read, and if she had the opportunity, she would also enjoy taking pictures. As an observer, Jazelle often takes in her surroundings. In her family, Jazelle is the one who always wants to make everything better. She struggles when she feels unable to fix things. Despite this, she frequently has a joyful demeanor and loves holidays, with her eyes sparkling when talking about her favorite things.
Jazelle is one of five siblings who have recently been reunited with their mother. While the case is still open, her mother is doing her best to provide for them, despite facing challenges, including being laid off from her job last October and struggling to find new employment. Jazelle is an incredibly sensitive child, deeply attuned to the emotions of those around her. She often feels a strong desire to help and fix things for her family, which can be overwhelming when she realizes she can't solve every problem. Recently, she shared that she enjoyed a special meal and a cake, moments that brought her some joy amidst the uncertainty. To nurture her creativity and find some solace in her own feelings, Jazelle would greatly appreciate a jewelry-making kit. This gift would allow her to take time for herself, engage in a creative outlet, and hopefully find a bit of peace in her busy life.
