A pair of Crocs for Malachi to feel comfortable and stylish
Malachi, 16 years old, NE
Wish submitted by:
NE DHHS - Madison CountyMalachi has overcome significant challenges and struggles with trusting others as a result. He was a state ward for several years before being adopted by a relative he viewed as a grandmother. Unfortunately, Malachi returned to the system after experiencing abuse from his grandmother, which affected both him and his older brother. For the past three years, Malachi has been in foster care and has moved between multiple placements. At times, he has been placed with his brother; however, other circumstances have made this impossible due to the boys' combined behaviors. In the coming weeks, Malachi is currently in treatment to work on some of his trauma triggers and coping skills. Malachi has a great attitude and is working hard.
Malachi is in a treatment program and has already made significant progress by catching up on all the work he missed during his time away due to skipping school and being in runaway status. He takes great pride in this accomplishment and is eager to continue striving for excellence. Malachi looks forward to completing his treatment and returning to a public school, excited for the new opportunities ahead. In addition to his academic goals, he has his eye on a stylish new pair of Crocs. He believes that wearing them will not only make him feel comfortable but also remind him that he is cared for and that his hard work has not gone unnoticed.
