A Coach Purse for Tayla to cherish forever
Tayla, 21 years old, OR
Wish submitted by:
The Lost & Found InstituteTayla spent her youth moving through foster homes and juvenile detention, labeled as a "high-risk youth." This constant labeling made her believe she was less deserving of trust and freedom compared to others. Running away became her way of taking control, a survival tactic from her past experiences with homelessness. Now, Tayla is using her experiences to advocate for runaway youth. She knows the struggles young people face when they feel ignored and unsupported. Her goal is to create spaces where their voices are heard. Through her advocacy, she fights for policies that support their needs instead of punishing them for their trauma.
Tayla is asking for a Coach purse, something she has quietly dreamed of for years. Growing up in foster care, she learned early on not to ask for things that felt “extra” or special. When other girls had nice purses or small luxuries that made them feel beautiful and seen, Tayla felt like that world wasn’t meant for her. Over time, she stopped hoping for one, convincing herself that girls like her didn’t get things like that. But this isn’t just about a purse. It’s about healing a small piece of that belief. Receiving a Coach purse would mean more than a fashion accessory; it would be a reminder that she is worthy of nice things, that she belongs, and that her dreams, even the quiet ones, matter.
