Artejah has been in foster care for several years. She lost her mother when she was fifteen, and her father has frequently been in and out of jail, as well as her life. Recently, after four years, Artejah's legal guardian rescinded guardianship, leading her to reenter extended foster care. Artejah is looking forward to attending college.
