Carhartt overalls for Evan to feel confident on a tight budget
Evan, 20 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
Building Resilience TogetherEvan has been involved in both the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Despite the challenges of navigating both systems, he has shown remarkable resilience and determination. Currently, Evan is enrolled in school and is committed to completing his education while also working full-time and developing skills in a trade. In addition to his academic and professional responsibilities, Evan values spending time with his friends and is deeply dedicated to supporting and caring for his younger sister. He has expressed a strong desire to ensure that she does not encounter the same challenges he has faced, which reflects his sense of responsibility, maturity, and motivation to break intergenerational cycles.
Evan is requesting assistance with purchasing a new pair of overalls that reflect his personal style and help support his confidence and self-expression. As a young adult currently balancing work, school, and the significant responsibility of caring for his younger sister after recently assuming full guardianship, Evan has limited financial ability to purchase clothing items for himself. Having clothing that makes him feel comfortable and confident is important to his overall well-being and sense of identity, especially as he navigates the pressures of adulthood and caregiving responsibilities at a young age. Supporting this request would provide Evan with an opportunity to invest in himself while continuing to serve as a stable, positive role model and support system for his sister.
Building Resilience Together requests this wish for Evan.

"My name is Evan, too. I am also a big brother. I'm about 15 years older than you, but I also grew up around foster care. You CAN make a better life for your little sister, and no matter how hard it is, it will be worth it. Know that there are strangers like me rooting for you. -Evan"
