Community ResponseSterlina was in foster care for over ten years. She had multiple foster home placements before entering her current scattered-site transitional housing placement. She and her son reside in a one-bedroom apartment, which she has neatly decorated to reflect her individual taste. Sterlina enjoys watching movies, cooking, writing, and spending time with her son. Sterlina is a hard worker and has recently completed her coursework and passed the state exam to become a certified Phlebotomist. She does a great job of parenting, managing motherhood, and balancing work.
Sterlina has recently completed her phlebotomy certification and is eager to start her career in the medical field. After obtaining her certification, she made the decision to pursue further qualifications as a nurse assistant, believing that this additional training would enhance her marketability and improve her chances of finding employment. To support her studies, she needs an iPad to complete her certification courses online. She plans to utilize the library's Wi-Fi to work on her online classes.
