Rina recently entered foster care after experiencing a highly isolated upbringing. Throughout her childhood, her family frequently moved from state to state, often relocating when child protective services became involved. As a result, she did not attend school or receive routine medical care. She is enrolled in school and is beginning to experience many developmental milestones. Having grown up with limited social interaction and spending most of her time watching Netflix and TikTok, she is now eager to gain life skills, gain independence, and build a stable future as she approaches adulthood.

Rina would greatly benefit from having a cell phone. After recently entering foster care, she is getting ready to transition into a living program as she approaches her 18th birthday in June. Having a phone would help her manage her appointments, stay in touch with her service providers, and communicate with her support team. This would also assist her in developing the independence and life skills necessary for successful independent living.
