He thrives in active, hands-on experiences and has demonstrated resilience despite ongoing challenges in his family life. In January 2025, concerns regarding his mother's substance use prompted child welfare services to become involved, as this situation was impacting Ammon's safety and well-being. At that time, he was observed to be constantly physically exhausted and taking on caregiving responsibilities for his younger siblings, which were beyond what is appropriate for a child his age. Ammon is struggling to find a sense of normalcy but remains positive, upbeat, and hopeful for the future.
