Aviana receives LifeSet services because of the loss of her mother and her tumultuous relationship with her father, which led to a challenging childhood. After finishing high school early, she has been working full-time at Jersey Mike's to support herself, as she has limited family and financial assistance. Deeply motivated to enter the nursing field, Aviana is drawn to the profession both for its intellectual challenges and the stability it offers—something especially meaningful given her own unstable upbringing. Her passion for nursing is rooted in personal experience; as a child, she spent time in the hospital and was profoundly influenced by the compassion and care provided by the nursing staff. Now, she hopes to offer the same level of support and comfort to others. Aviana has heard many stories from family members and friends about their negative experiences within the healthcare system. As a woman of color, she is dedicated to helping create more positive and equitable experiences for patients with similar backgrounds. Aviana prioritizes staying active and tries to fit regular gym sessions into her busy schedule. One of her favorite hobbies is rock climbing. In her free time, she values connection and relaxation, often spending time with friends or unwinding by playing video games. Furthermore, Aviana is committed to giving back to her community and has volunteered at her local church, where she dedicates her time and energy to support others and remain actively involved.

Receiving this laptop would make a meaningful difference in Aviana’s academic journey by providing her with reliable access to the tools and resources she needs to succeed in college. At present, she does not have a personal computer and must rely on borrowing laptops from friends or traveling to the library to complete assignments that cannot be done on her phone. While Aviana previously had access to a school-issued laptop, she was required to return it upon graduation, and she has since felt the impact of not having a reliable device of her own. Having a personal laptop would provide her with the independence, stability, and accessibility necessary to stay organized, complete coursework, and fully engage in her academic journey. It would be a critical step in supporting her continued success and helping her reach her goals in nursing.
