David and his three younger siblings were removed from their home and placed in separate foster homes. Previously, David had been the primary caregiver for his siblings, so he was extremely upset about their separation. However, David has come to terms with the circumstances that led to their placement in foster care. He has not allowed the upheaval in his life to deter him from his goal of graduating. Although he worries about his siblings, he understands that they are all safe and no longer homeless.

David loves his job at Kroger because he gets to meet different people every day. He lives alone in an Independent Living program and has been working at Kroger for the past six months. During this time, he has saved enough money to purchase a used electric scooter. However, he had to take the scooter to the shop for repairs. To afford the repairs, David is working extra shifts. Recently, David asked for an Uber gift card to help with his transportation to and from work. He was initially reluctant to make this request because he prefers to solve problems on his own. As a result, he has been walking 7.5 miles each way to his job daily. By purchasing the Uber card, David will learn that it’s okay to ask for help when he needs it.
