Emilia has been a part of the Guardian Scholars Program since 2018. After spending most of her life in foster care, Emilia has navigated significant life transitions, and she has built a strong foundation of stability and support through her mentor, her sister, and her CASA. Emilia is a passionate animal lover, caring for her own pets while working in dog grooming and pet care. An adventurous spirit with a playful sense of humor, she enjoys skateboarding and approaches life with creativity, warmth, and resilience. She came to San Francisco State to explore cinema and dreams of making a difference, potentially through social work or other helping professions in the future.

Emilia has worked diligently over the last 8 years to achieve her bachelor's degree and the moment has finally come! She unfortunately lives in Southern California and can't afford to travel to the bay area to walk in her commencement ceremony without support to cover the travel and accommodation expenses. This is such an important celebration and she deserves to be able to celebrate this major accomplishment!
