Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationZahmir is a bright and energetic child in foster care with his baby brother. He loves riding his balance bike, making his brother laugh with his silly dances, and exploring his favorite topics—space, cars, and the weather. Zahmir is incredibly smart, proudly spelling his name out loud and identifying all the letters. With the help of ABA and play therapy, he’s working hard to overcome challenges related to autism and developmental delays, growing and learning more each day.
Zahmir is an energetic, joyful kid who really thrives when he has space to move and stay active. With his autism diagnosis, it can sometimes be hard to find safe, consistent ways for him to release that energy in a way that also supports his needs. One thing that has really stood out is how much he loves jumping—it’s one of his favorite ways to move his body. A trampoline would give Zahmir a safe and structured way to do what he already enjoys, while also helping him regulate his energy and emotions. Jumping can help him feel calmer, improve focus, and support his coordination and body awareness, all while giving him something fun and engaging to do. Safety is especially important, and a trampoline with protective features like curved bars would help him play more freely while giving his caregivers peace of mind. With his family moving from the city to a more rural area, access to parks and play spaces will be limited. Having a trampoline at home would give Zahmir a consistent way to stay active, regulate his energy, and enjoy something he truly loves every day.
