A spinning chair for Aiden who is autistic
Aiden, 5 years old, MO
Wish submitted by:
Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationAiden is a bundle of joy and adventure! When he goes outside, he’s ready to have fun—swinging, climbing, sliding, and running everywhere. If he could, he would stay at the playground all day! Aiden makes playtime exciting with his laughter and happy spirit. It’s hard not to smile when he’s around. But Aiden is not just about fun; he’s very smart, too. He loves to solve problems and is always curious about how things work. He turns every day into a new adventure and makes everyone around him smile more. He's placed in care.
Aiden would really benefit from a spinning chair made for autistic children because it’s a fun way to help with his sensory and developmental needs. Many kids on the autism spectrum enjoy movement to help them feel calm and focused, and spinning can provide the right kind of sensory input. This can help Aiden feel more balanced and ready to take part in daily activities after he has had some time to move around. A spinning chair is valuable because it lets Aiden move safely and in a structured way. Instead of spinning in unsafe places, he has a specific chair just for that. He can control how fast or slow he spins, which helps him understand his body better and how his actions affect movement. On top of that, the chair is fun! It can be part of his playtime, whether he's using it for creative play, taking calming breaks, or just enjoying the spinning sensation. Because it’s enjoyable and helpful, he’s more likely to use it regularly, making it a useful tool for him. All in all, the spinning chair gives Aiden a safe way to get sensory input, helps him focus and regulate himself, and provides a joyful way to meet his need for movement throughout the day.
