Sofia’s life has been impacted by unsafe family situations that led her to be in foster care. The odds have been stacked against her. She could have used that as an excuse, but instead she has let that drive her to succeed. She has spent her high school career as an active student, flutist in the band, a member of the color guard, and an active participant in other clubs such as FBLA. She has a passion for healthy living and spends a lot of time in the gym, and focuses on clean eating. Sofia is the depiction of turning adversity into purpose and positive change.

Sofia will be attending college in the fall and would like a laptop. Purchasing a laptop for her before the semester begins will help reduce the stress of completing her papers and classwork with ease. Additionally, by getting her a laptop, she can use her loans and personal funds for classes and books instead of on a computer.
